Mentorship Programme

Wisdom is not earned alone. It is passed forward.

The SRLHD Mentorship Programme pairs current students and recent graduates with experienced alumni for a structured 12-month developmental relationship. It is not networking. It is not coaching. It is a disciplined commitment between two people to one person's growth.

Programme Structure

How the Programme Works

Structure is what separates mentorship from friendship. We provide the architecture so that every session is substantive.

01

Apply and Profile

Both mentors and mentees complete a detailed application covering their background, goals, areas of focus, and preferred working style.

02

Curated Matching

Our team reviews all applications and produces hand-curated matches based on goals, college alignment, sector, and interpersonal fit. We do not use algorithms alone.

03

Orientation Session

All matched pairs attend a two-hour joint orientation that sets expectations, establishes the programme structure, and begins the relationship intentionally.

04

Monthly Sessions

Pairs meet at least once per month for a structured 60-minute session using SRLHD's mentorship conversation framework — provided to all participants.

05

Milestone Reviews

At months 3, 6, 9, and 12, both mentor and mentee complete a structured review. The programme team checks in with every pair at each milestone.

06

Culmination and Continuity

The formal programme closes at 12 months with a culmination conversation. Many pairs choose to continue informally. Mentors are eligible to become Senior Mentors.

Standards

The Mentorship Charter

All participants agree to the SRLHD Mentorship Charter before the programme begins. It is not a legal document — it is a declaration of intent, values, and mutual respect.

Honesty

We commit to truthful, substantive conversation — not flattery, not performance.

Confidentiality

What is shared in a mentoring relationship stays within that relationship.

Preparation

Both parties come to every session having prepared. We do not waste each other's time.

Accountability

Commitments made in sessions are honoured or honestly revisited at the next meeting.

Respect

We recognise each other as whole human beings, not functions to be optimised.

Ready to Grow — or to Give Back?

Whether you are seeking guidance or ready to offer it, the Mentorship Programme has a place for you. Applications open each January and July.
